What happens when the finite human self enters the space of a continuous 24-hour durational performance? What happens when we linger longer?

(in)finitude is born from reflections on a contemporary world driven by immediacy and the perceived optimization of technology, where artificial intelligence (AI) and instantaneous algorithmic systems increasingly shape how we perceive the world around us—eroding our capacity for attention and narrowing our contemplative lives.
Taking place on the Summer Solstice, the longest day of the year, (in)finitude views duration not merely as a linear structure but as an artistic medium. Trang Trịnh refers to the piece as a personal inquiry into the concept of 'performance,' where art becomes a ritual of attention. In tandem with the piano, she will perform, rest, reflect, engage in dialogue, and be present with the audience, guest artists, and Generative AI, within a space structured as a journey rather than a traditional concert.
This journey does not rely on a fixed script; rather, it yields to the actual physical and psychological states of the artist at any given moment. Audiences are welcome to arrive, leave, and return, becoming witnesses to the evolving states of the body, music, and time.
This special event also marks 20 years of Trang Trịnh's artistic practice. The performance features the participation of artists, guests, friends, and colleagues who have been closely connected with, accompanied, and inspired her artistic journey: Nguyễn Thùy Dương, Phạm Diệu Hương, Phạm Mai Khanh, Marcus Mạnh Cường Vũ, Nhung Nguyễn, Đỗ Thị Thu Phượng, Trịnh Quyền, Park Sung Min, Nguyễn Đức Tú, Phạm Tuệ, Đan Quế. Notably, the two conversations with author Đặng Hoàng Giang at both ends of the journey will connect Trang Trịnh’s reflections with the audience, opening up a shared perspective for us to experience the piece more fully.
The program is entirely free of charge, welcoming all audiences from young children to seniors, as well as visitors with accessible needs.
